Description	:	Marie was born in Dernau, Germany on the 24th of April 1878. Because her mother had the same first name, Marie would in her early life use her middle name of Christina but in adult life used Mary. Mary’s family had moved to the U.S. from Germany, by way of Ireland, in 1880. When the Winten family arrived in Ireland, they found nothing but poverty and continued on their way to America, first settling in Crawford County, Iowa for a few years. Mary’s family had moved to the U.S. from Germany, by way of Ireland, in 1880. When the Winten family arrived in Ireland, they found nothing but poverty and continued on their way to America, first settling in Crawford County, Iowa for a few years. The family then moved to Nebraska, to settle in Box Butte County, taking a Homestead claim in 1886. After their marriage in November of 1897 Andrew Jacob Tschacher and Mary (Winten) Tschacher had five children. 1st was Henry William born the 19th of September 1899. Then Louise Catherine on the 25th of September 1900. Next was Marie Anna on the 30th of May 1902. Fourth was Edward Joseph on the 12th of January 1905 and last was Alfred Jacob on the 13th of January 1912. All the children were born there on the farm in the Lawn Community east of Hemingford, Nebraska. Andrew farmed, ranched and operated a skimming station. When Andrew and Mary retired they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. Later they moved into a home for the elderly in Alliance, Nebraska. Andrew died on the 1st of April 1959. Mary was then moved to Chadron, Nebraska and died on the 31st of October 1962. Both were laid to rest in the Hemingford Cemetery. Song Lyric Mary Mary Written by George M.
