Description	:	Marie Denton Kirby, 92, formerly of 903 9th Street, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at White Oak Manor. Born in Blacksburg, S.C. she was the wife of the late Jack N. Kirby and the daughter of the late Frank A. Denton and Dovie Barnett Denton. She was retired from textiles, enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved her family. Mrs. Kirby was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was retired from textiles, enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved her family. Mrs. Kirby was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Harris (Mickey), Brenda Webb (Kenneth) and Jackie Irvin (Larry), all of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Stephanie McGinnis, Jason Harris and fiance', Christine, Chad Webb (Anissa), Christa Smith (Josh), Ashley Bradley (Josh) and Brett Irvin (Carli); six great-grandchildren, Colt, Cooper, Brock, Jack, Knox and Emmarie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kirby was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Kirby; four brothers, Broughton Denton, Broadus Denton, Ray Denton and Lamar Denton; two sisters, Elizabeth Connor and Sue Childers; and a great-grandchild, Kirby Bradley. The family would like to extend a special thank you to White Oak Manor (Unit 4) and caregivers, Annie, Lacey, Crystal and Stephanie. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery with Reverend Andy Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Temple Baptist Church, "Playground Fund", 508 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, S.C., 29340 or MUSC, "In memory of Kirby Bradley", PCICU, 165 Ashley Avenue, Charleston, S.C., 29425. The family will be at the home of Jackie and Larry Irvin, 124 Chaucer Drive.
