Daughter of George Reinhold Herman Wilhelm Scheitel and Matilda Dorothea Burmester OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, October 4, 2005 MARIE LINVILLE Marie Elizabeth Scheitel Linville, 73, of Russell, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial was in the Confidence Cemetery. Born October 20, 1931, in Potsdam, Minn., she was the daughter of the Rev. George Reinhold Herman Wilhelm Scheitel and Matilda Dorothea Burmester. Marie received her early education at District School 114 and graduated from Rochester High School in 1949. Marie worked part time for Kresges while attending high school. After graduation she was employed as a radio-iodine secretary at the Mayo Clinic from 1949 to 1955. She married Richard Ford Linville, of Russell, Iowa, on August 7, 1955 at Milroy, Minn. Marie and Richard recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Marie was of the Lutheran faith and was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Potsdam, Minn. by her father. She was confirmed in the same church in June of 1945. Marie was a homemaker and farm wife. She wore a hat of many trades as a bookkeeper, parts delivery, farmhand, cook and chauffeur for her family. Marie loved sewing, crossstitching, crossword puzzles, and genealogy and contributed to her ancestral heritage so that all who continue will be able to build upon the family knowledge base. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Richard of Russell; two sons: Bruce Linville of Ottumwa and Dennis Linville of Chariton; two daughters: Marceline (Dennis) Slack of Mediapolis and Rhonda (Mark) White of Chariton; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Eunice Hadel of Blaine, Minn; a brother, Marvin Scheitel of Rochester, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
