Read More	The Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), October 5, 1939, p. 5, col. 4 & 5 OBITUARY Mrs. Mary Dolista, a resident of Bruno for the past half-century, died at her home at 3:20 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, September 30, at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 4 days. She has been in failing health for some time but her symptoms were aggravated when she fell off the steps outside her home two weeks ago. Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at nine o’clock from the home to St. Anthony’s church, the Rev. Father Kopecky celebrating the requiem Mass and conducting the burial rites. Interment was in St. Anthony’s cemetery beside the grave of her husband who passed away on September 25, 1929. The pallbearers were Edward Vavrina, Leonard Vavrina, John Kastl, Leslie Kastl, Louis Styskal and James Chladek. Mary Hajek was born in Bohemia on July 26, 1859. Her marriage to John Dolista was solemnized at Stary Sedlo on April 24, 1882. In 1888, the Dolista family emigrated to the United States and Nebraska, making their home for the first year in the Plasi settlement in Saunders County. They then moved to Bruno, where they lived the rest of their lives. To Mr. and Mrs. Dolista were born three sons and five daughters. One son, John P., died about 20 years ago, and two daughters, Mary and Anna, died in infancy. The surviving children are: Edward J. of Farwell, Louis of Bruno and Mrs. Carrie Kolar of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Adela Sypal of Brainard, and Miss Vilma Dolista, who lived with her mother and tenderly and conscientiously ministered to her needs in her old age. Mrs. Dolista was a quiet, home loving woman, devoted to her family. She was very fond of reading and was always interested in the world of events transpiring about her. When her sight failed some five years ago, she enjoyed and appreciated the visits of her friends. With the exception of Mrs. Kolar, who was unable to come, all of Mrs. Dolista’s children were with her in her last illness and at the funeral. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved.
