She was married to Thomas Skrivan in 1890 in Czechoslovakia. Mr. Skrivan was a carpenter. In 1898, Mr. and Mrs. Skrivan and family of four children came to the United States making their home at Baltimore, Maryland until 1908 when they moved to Wolbach, Nebr. She was married to Thomas Skrivan in 1890 in Czechoslovakia. Mr. Skrivan was a carpenter. In 1898, Mr. and Mrs. Skrivan and family of four children came to the United States making their home at Baltimore, Maryland until 1908 when they moved to Wolbach, Nebr. Mr. Skrivan died in November 1917. On May 5th, 1919 she married Frank Vopat at St. Paul. They made their home on a farm near Wolbach. Mr. Vopat died July 6th, 1932 and Mrs. Vopat came to St. Paul to make her home with a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Puncochar. Mrs. Vopat was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society at SS Peter and Paul Church at St. Paul. She was a lover of flowers and an ardent gardener until the past year when her health began to fail rapidly. Death came to her quietly Monday evening at her home. She was 96 years of age. She was also preceded in death by six sons; three in infancy while the family lived in Czechoslovakia and Albert, Vincent Jack and Jim; a sister Antonia and a brother Michael. She is the last member of her family. Surviving her are two sons, Harry of Bigfork, Montana, William of Bloomfield, Nebr., a stepson, Frank Vopat of Wolbach, four daughters, Mrs. Pete (Mary) Stepp, Bloomfield, Nebraska, Mrs. Joseph (Amelia) Puncochar of St. Paul, Mrs. Dean (Bessie) Bailey of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mrs. Clyde (Louisa) Bailey of Nobelsville, Indiana, 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
