Description	:	KEARNEY — Marie M. Haller, 94, of Minden died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Minden with the Rev. James Benton officiating. Burial will be at Minden Cemetery. Marie was born on Sept. 30, 1920, in Roseland to Henry J. and Elizabeth K. (Schneider) Velder. Marie grew up in Adams County. In the 1940s, she played Kitten Ball (softball) and was the catcher for a team in Adams County. On Nov. 8, 1954, she married Richard “Dick” Creighton Haller in Logan. Although they originally made their home in Broken Bow, they later moved to Minden in the latter 1950s. Marie was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Minden. She enjoyed gardening and canning, camping and fishing, sports of all kinds, playing bingo and cooking for her family. Marie especially enjoyed family gatherings and visiting with friends. Survivors include three children, Frank Haller and his wife, Vicki, of Hastings, Joanne Majer and her husband, Dan, of Gibbon and James Haller of Ord; four grandchildren, Heather Schmitz and husband Craig, Jessica Majer and friend Scott Schmidt, Amanda Majer and Allison Haller; and three great-grandchildren, Emma and Kreyton Schmitz and Dmitri Majer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Haller; and five brothers, Theadore, Raymond and Gilbert, and infants, Eugene and Leonard. She was the last of her generation in both the Velder family and the Haller family.
