Maxine was born on October 7, 1919 in Newville, Indiana to Cloy and Mildred (Donley) Beree. She went to school in St. Joe and Newville, Indiana. Read More	Marie Maxine (Beree) Haver, 98, of Hicksville, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Auburn Village, Auburn, Indiana. Maxine was born on October 7, 1919 in Newville, Indiana to Cloy and Mildred (Donley) Beree. She went to school in St. Joe and Newville, Indiana. In 1938, she married Woodrow “Woody” Haver and he preceded her in death in 1980. In 1983, she married George Cherry and he preceded her in death in 2005. Maxine work and retired from General Electric in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Maxine was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Hicksville where she had been a member for over seventy years. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and VFW Auxiliary in Bryan, Ohio, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hicksville and a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Hicksville. She volunteered at the Bargain Box and was a Gray Lady for over ten years at Community Memorial Hospital. When not volunteering or taking care of memberships, she spent a lot of time golfing, bowling, playing cards or traveling. Maxine bowled until she was in her eighty’s and was a member of the Hickory Hills golf league until she was ninety. She remained in card clubs through out her ninety’s. Maxine is survived by two sons, Larry (Audrey), and Barry (Sharon). She has seven grandchildren: Mark (Amy), Gregg (Laurie), Stephanie (Rick), Laura (Bill), Tammi (Steve), Scott (Kim), Lisa (Kirk). She also has many great grandchildren: Malika, Armon, Kelsey, Jenna, Drew, Nola, Eva, Kai, Taylor, Abigail, Alexis, Keeton, Cooper, Cameryn, Beckett and Britton. She also had three step children and step grand children and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Irlene, Wendell, Berlene and Dick. Funeral services for Maxine will be Friday at 3:00 p.m at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville with Pastor Rick Barnett officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 before the funeral. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
