Description	:	Maria S. Andersen was born in Hojbo, Malaxandar, Sweden on February 26, 1885. She was the daughter of Oscar and Mathilda Loving Johansson. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on February 28, 1978, having attained the age of 93 years and 2 days. She spent her childhood in her native land, coming to the United States at the age of 24 years. Her first home in this country was in Nelson, Nebraska. Andersen was born in Hojbo, Malaxandar, Sweden on February 26, 1885. She was the daughter of Oscar and Mathilda Loving Johansson. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on February 28, 1978, having attained the age of 93 years and 2 days. She spent her childhood in her native land, coming to the United States at the age of 24 years. Her first home in this country was in Nelson, Nebraska. On February 11, 1913 she was united in marriage to Andrew Andersen at Nelson. They farmed in Nucholls County for several years. In 1926 they moved to a farm near Marquette where they farmed until 1957 when they retired and moved into Marquette. Her husband preceded her in death on August 16, 1965. At an early age she was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in her native land. After moving to the Marquette vicinity she transferred her membership to the St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg, where she was active in church affairs as long as her health permitted. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and 1 sister and 4 grandchildren. Her survivors include 5 daughters, Mrs. Ellen Friesen of Ripon, California, Mrs. Magda Friesen of Aurora, Mrs. Viola Kroeker of Henderson, Nebraska, Mrs. Agnes Huston of Murdock, Nebraska and Mrs. Margaret Dubas of Clarks, Nebraska; 1 sister, Mrs. Ruth Peterson who resides in Sweden; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and other relatives and close friends.
