A cerebral hemorrhage and multiple body bruises are believed to have caused the woman’s death, doctors at the hospital said. It is not known how long she lay on her hotel bed. Coroner Con Sheehy last night said in inquest will be conducted in the case. The investigation probably will be held the middle of this week, the coroner said. Mrs. Evans is the wife of Nick Evans, who left Butte for Canada soon after the couple disposed of the Belmont Bar on South Arizona Street. Her husband has not been located. A daughter of Mrs. Mary Greene and the late Frederick Greene, pioneer residents of Anaconda, Mrs. Evans was born in the Smelter City in August 12, 1902. She attended St. Paul parochial school and the Anaconda High School. Mrs. Evans resides in Anaconda until seven years ago when she moved to Butte to make her home. The body was moved to the Lavis Merrill Mortuary in Anaconda and will be taken to the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary Greene, 607 East City Street this afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning. The funeral cortège will form at the home of her mother at 8:45 Tuesday morning and will preceded to St Paul Church, where a Requiem High mass will be celebrated at 9:00. Interment will be in the family plot in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Evans is survived by four daughters, Marie, Jean, Patricia and Geraldine Evans; one son Raymond; five brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. George Kerrigan, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hannon, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Geary and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Marion, all of Anaconda; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greene and Mr. and Mrs. William J. Greene of Butte; her grandmother Mrs. Kate Harrington of Anaconda, and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Butte and Anaconda. The Montana Standard obituary: 4/22/1940
