Vigil services are 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Hingham. Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the Hingham Cemetery. She was born at Rudyard on June 4, 1918, and grew up on the family farm north of Rudyard and received her education there. She worked on the family farm and eventually purchased interest in a place southeast of Hingham. On Oct. 4, 1949, she married Jacob Vavruska at Hingham. They lived and farmed at Hingham, and she was a homemaker and mother of nine children. Following their divorce she continued to live in Hingham. Vavruska was a member of Our Lady of Ransom Church and the Altar Society in Hingham. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed many hobbies, including quilting, sewing, bird watching, puzzles, card games and cooking. Surviving are three daughters, Fern Ergenbright of Hingham, Hazel May of Rudyard and Gail Sharp of Kalispell a son, Irvin Vavruska of East Helena two sisters, Dorothy Ferda and Janet Lehman of Highwood, and seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Five children, Agnes, Bernard, Clarence, Doris and Edith, preceded her in death.
