Description	:	Marilyn E. Miller, age 77, of Boone, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Israel Family Hospice House. Per her wishes, Marilyn has been cremated. A Celebration of Marilyn's Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets. Born on December 18, 1942 at Boone County Hospital, Marilyn was the daughter of Orris and Juanita (Bales) Eckhart. She graduated from Boone High School in 1961. Marilyn began working for Miller's Drug Store when she was a senior in high school. She then worked at the Iowa State University Bookstore. She was united in marriage to Gerald Miller in 1974. The couple later divorced but remained very good friends. She worked for Spurgeon's Clothing Store in Boone for many years, and later the Evangelical Home, now Westhaven Community, prior to her retirement. Marilyn enjoyed fishing and camping in her younger years. She liked to play cards, especially Texas Rummy and Canasta, and she loved trips to the casino. In her free time, Marilyn could be found putting together jigsaw puzzles and listening to music. Marilyn is survived by her children: Susan (Jeff "Zipp") Wheeler of Boone, Jerry (Terri) Miller of Melrose, and Herb Miller (Heather Jennings-Wilson) of Paton; grandchildren: Kerry (Derek) Wirtz, Brian Ingram (Shayna Newman), Kurtis (Bailey) Vogler, Jeremie (Jetaime) Miller, Alexis Miller, Kloie Miller, Joni (Grant) Brown, and Randy (Michelle) Thomas; great-grandchildren: Kamrynn, Kaylen, Trey, Jacob, Jasmine, and J.D.; a sister, Linda (Darrell) Boettcher of Newton, IA; three brothers: Duane (Judy) Eckhart of Gladstone, MO, Elmer (Denita) Eckhart of Seattle, WA, and Steve Eckhart of Glenwood, IA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her special friend, Gerald Miller. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at 6th and Marshall in Boone and online condolences may be left for Marilyn's family at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com.
