On December 6, 1938 He married Marvel Grace Brown at Red Oak, IA.∼Marion Red Needham Marion Needham, son of George F. and Annie McIntire Needham, was born October 15, 1908 at Lamoni, Iowa and passed away June 10, 1975 at Murphy Memorial hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at age 66. He and Marvel Grace Brown were married December 06, 1938 at Red Oak, Iowa, and became the parents of two daughters, Shirley Jean and DyAnn June. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daniel, and his sister, May Elliott. Besides his wife and daughters, he is survived by two sons-in-law, Curtis Frey and Dennis Weaver; two grandchildren, Debra June and Daniel Duane Webster; three brothers Enos of Independence, Missouri, Worth and Ben both of Lamoni; and one sister, Harriet of Mr. Ayr, Iowa. Marion grew up in Lamoni where he was baptized into the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day SAints and graduated from high school. Before coming to Villisca to work at the same blacksmith shope which he later purchased, he worked for a year on the railroad in Nevada and for several years on the Lou Hotze farm at Carson, Iowa. He was a memeber of the Chamber of Commerce, and served for a time on both the school board and city council. As owner and operator of the blacksmith and auto repair shop, he worked tirelessly for Villisca and surrounding community for 37 years. Services were held Friday, June 13, 1975 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Honorary Casketbearers were Kenneth Gray, Ivan Johnson, Henry Kasha, and Ted McCoy. Casketbearers were Don Robinson, Walter Eitzen, malcolm McCoy, Tom Rusk, Jim Stephens, and Ralph Phillips. Flowerbearers were Mr. & Mrs. Francis Murphy and Mr. & Mrs. Earl Fryer. Music by Mrs. Willard White, Registry by Mrs. Harold Robinson and Mrs Don Robinson. Ushers were Harold Robinson and Roger Poston, Interment in the Villisca, Iowa Cemetery. In behalf of the family we wish to express their gratitude for your many acts of kindness evidenced in thought and deed, and for your attendance at this Memorial service.
