Description	:	Marjorie Alice (Blixt) Cool, 100, of rural Callaway, died March 8, 2017, at the Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. She was born July 18, 1916, to Elof and Alice (Oman) Blixt at their ranch southwest of Callaway. She and her brother, Roy, rode horseback to attend Hazel Dell School. Read More	Marjorie Alice (Blixt) Cool, 100, of rural Callaway, died March 8, 2017, at the Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. She was born July 18, 1916, to Elof and Alice (Oman) Blixt at their ranch southwest of Callaway. She and her brother, Roy, rode horseback to attend Hazel Dell School. Her mother passed away when Marjorie was 14 years old. This was especially devastating for a young girl ready for her mother's presence. Marjorie graduated from Arnold High School in 1934 and returned to the ranch to help cook for the multiple hired men on her father's ranch. Marjorie met Grayston Cool at a dance in Callaway around 1935. She knew right away she had found her life-long dance partner. Marjorie and Grayston were married July 4, 1937, at the Evangelical United Brethren parsonage in Callaway. To this union four children were born, LaDonna, Ron, Karen and Jerry. Marjorie and Grayston's first years of married life were spent in Callaway where Grayston managed the local grocery store. In 1940, they moved to Marjorie's family's ranch, where they continued and expanded the operation. On the ranch, Marjorie cooked meals for her family and the hired men three times a day, maintained a highly organized home, and kept the books for the ranch. In her spare time, she loved counted cross-stitch, knitting and gardening. Later in life, her flower pots and beds were a source of great pride. After the kids were grown, Marjorie and Grayston found time to go dancing. They never lost the twinkle in their eyes, as they gazed at each other, while waltzing across the dance floor. Marjorie continued to live on the ranch after Grayston died in 2003. Her house became the hub of the ranch and daily coffee breaks became the norm. In 2013, Marjorie moved to Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg. In 2016, she moved to Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, where she greatly enjoyed celebrating her 100th birthday with her family. Marjorie was always kind and a great listener. She rarely spoke about herself and was genuinely interested in listening to her family and friends. She was quick to make new friends and treasured her time with old friends. She was quick to laugh and her favorite source of entertainment was her beloved grandchildren. They were her favorites, until the GREAT-grandchildren came alone. She loved holding her grand babies, teaching them a proper pat-a-cake and passing along her wisdom to the next generations. Family meant everything to Marjorie. Marjorie was a member of the Morning Star Methodist Church, and was active in the Custer County Extension Club and Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include daughters, LaDonna (Allan) McClure of Johnson Lake, and Karen (Gerald) Horst of Arnold; sons, Ron (Nancy) of Arnold, and Jerry (Judy) of Callaway; eight grandchildren, Kim (Pat) Kern of Hastings, Lance (Sherry) McClure of Phoenix, Ariz., Shane (Lana) Cool of Arnold, Robert Horst of Holdrege, Elizabeth (Phillip) Goetzinger of Portland, Ore., Joseph (Natalie) Cool of Callaway, Joshua (Helen) Cool of Gothenburg, and Jana (David) Jobman of Gothenburg; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grayston; her parents; herbrother, Roy E. Blixt; a grandson, Scott B. Cool; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Ward. Services will be Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Tallin Church, south of Arnold. Pastor Lee Wonch will officiate. Burial will be in the Tallin Cemetery.
