She was born in Hartford City, IN on March 11, 1927 the daughter of Charles E. and Terpola Townsend Williams. Marjorie married Daniel J. Sommers at the Converse United Methodist Church Parsonage on July 18, 1954 and he survives. Marjorie was a 1945 graduate of Converse High School and a graduate of Ft. Wayne Beauty College. She was a homemaker and a member of the Converse United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband Daniel are her sons Tom Sommers and his wife Marcia of Ft. Wayne, IN and Samuel Sommers and his wife Beth Hall of Elkhart, IN; a son-in-law Randy Nelson of Marion, IN; grandchildren Dusty Peterson, Mande Donohue, Zachary Sommers and Travis Sommers and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Diane Nelson and three sisters Ruth, Gertrude and Pauline. A service celebrating the life of Marjorie Ellen Sommers will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Converse United Methodist Church, 109 East Wabash, Converse with Rev. Donald Brenneman officiating. Burial will be in the Mast Cemetery in Howard County. Family and friends will gather from 10:00-11:30 AM, Saturday at the church.
