Description	:	Nira Mae Loney, 94, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away on January 30, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m., until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St. Marshalltown. Interment will be at Liscomb Cemetery following a luncheon. Marjorie “Nira Mae” was born September 18, 1920, to Charles and Greeba (Chamness) Decker in Marshalltown. She grew up in and graduated from the Marshalltown Schools. Nira was united in marriage to Harvey A. Loney on June 18, 1939 in Plattsburg, MO. Together they farmed around Marshalltown all of their married life, and she also stayed at home as a housewife raising their five children. Nira was a member of First Baptist Church her whole life, being baptized there in 1933. She was also a member of the Daughters of American Veterans, VFW Auxiliary and Legion, holding various offices over the years. Nira and Harvey were also in several card clubs, meeting several times a month. Nira loved volunteering anywhere that she could, including the Iowa Veterans Home for years, at the church, and handing out poppies. Nira is survived by her 5 children: Hal (Nice’) Loney of Louisville, KY, Kent (Carol) Loney of Marshalltown, Sharon (Clifford) Viers of Marshalltown, T.W. “Tiny” (Zonetta) Loney of Springfield, MO, and Mary (Larry) Wilkening of Marshalltown; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Gary Decker, granddaughter, Tricia Loney and Nira Graham “Auntie”. Funeral services for Nira Mae Loney, 94, of Marshalltown, were held Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Marshalltown with Reverend Gerald Robinson officiating. Organist was Marla Grossman. Casket bearers were: Tracy Viers, Todd Wilkening, Larry Hamblin, Roger Hamblin, Dick Hamblin and Dakotah Wolken. Final resting place is Liscomb Cemetery in Liscomb, IA.
