Funeral services will be Friday 11 a.m at First United Methodist Church in Gering with the James K Irwin officiating. Maxine was born Jan 3, 1911, at Henderson, Iowa to Marion Dexter ad Bertha (Strader ) Maxwell. She attended school in Glenwood, Iowa, and Lincoln graduating from University High School. She taught school in Cook, from 1929 -1931 and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1931. She married Amos "Mike" Morrison June 20, 1931, at Lincoln. They lived on a farm west of Scottsbluff until 1934 when they moved to Granby and Grand Lake, CO where her husband was a partner in forming Grand Lake Light Company. They returned to Mitchell Valley in January 1942 farming until moving to Northfield Villa in 1974. She was a substitute teacher in Scotts bluff County Schools from 1966-1971. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Betty and Pat Holohan of Sun City West, AZ; son and daughter in law Bert and Pattie Morrison of Loveland, CO, brother Henry Maxwell of Lubbock, Tx. Grandaughter Chanda DeLos Santos and grandson Chad Morrison, both of Loveland; two step grandchildren; and a step great grandchild.
