Read More	Amos was always called "Mike" by his neighbors and relatives. He farmed in Mitchell Valley near his Morrison brothers. He loved photography and discussing political questions of the day. He died at age 81 of Alzheimer's Disease. Good Morning and welcome to a time of remembering and sharing some of the special times Dad has given us. As we have heard from many of you these last few days, the most common phrases have been "What a Blessing" or "it's Better this way" We too believe that Dad is finally free of a terrible, tormenting experience. It is that very experience that I strongly feel needs to be addressed and not overlooked this morning. It would be nearly impossible for me to accept the past four years if I thought that nothing had been learned or gained from these long days. One of the books that has been helpful to as as a family is called the "36 hour Day". The book helped us to understand that it doesn't make any difference whether or not you call this ailment Alzheimer's Disease or Senile Dementia. The point is, these people are experiencing a loss or impairment of their mental powers. What we would hope for all of us is, that we have gained a certain amount of sensitivity and understanding regarding the disease. We know that many families are dealing with similar circumstances. We ask all of you to become informed and supportive of those who are close to you. The time when we have been able to share information and experiences with those who are just starting this laborious struggle have helped us keep going. Some have said, "Remember him as he was. The person you could hear singing over the tractor or whistling as he started the day. As we were trying to select the music for this morning it would have been easy had we played some of the Big Band Music or any of the songs he used to sing in the car either on short rides or on long trips. Dad enjoyed life. He was also a strong person who taught us, by example, we not only have the right to represent what we believe but responsibility. In that attitude we will remember the good times. We choose to celebrate the life he lived and shared with us. We have mourned the loss of his ability to talk to us for a long time. We believe he has finally been freed of a heavy burden. We are grateful that you are here to share this time with us. We ask that you visit with us before you leave. We especially want to ask extended family and out of town friends to join us for lunch. Several years ago Barbara Streisand made the movie Yentil. In it she talks to her father after he dies and she is trying to sort things out. Her words have been going over and over in my mind for over a week. She starts the song with "Papa can you hear me? Papa can you see me?" We have called Dad Papa since Chanda was a babe.
