Description	:	Marjory F. Hoover Longtime local resident Marjory Frances Hoover, 99, of Kelso went to be with the Lord Feb. 13, 2012, at the Hospice Care Center. She was born March 6, 1912, in Yakima, to Andrew and Lucy (Smith) Haskins. The family moved to the local area 85 years ago and Marjorie graduated from Kelso High School in 1930. On June 28, 1932, she married Elmer Hoover in Vancouver, and became a homemaker, as well as a bookkeeper for her husband's company, Hoover Logging, for many years. She was born March 6, 1912, in Yakima, to Andrew and Lucy (Smith) Haskins. The family moved to the local area 85 years ago and Marjorie graduated from Kelso High School in 1930. On June 28, 1932, she married Elmer Hoover in Vancouver, and became a homemaker, as well as a bookkeeper for her husband's company, Hoover Logging, for many years. She attended Rose Valley Friends Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, puzzles, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, clam digging and oil painting. She loved golfing in Packwood, Wash., where she and Elmer had a cabin, and she golfed every Tuesday with the women of High Valley Country Club. Marjory loved traveling to the ocean, especially down the Oregon Coast. She also traveled to Arizona occasionally. Marjory had a warm heart and a good sense of humor. She was very loving and always the hostess. She is survived by her children, Joan and Frank Wagner of Kelso, and Shirley and Louie Botsford of Spanaway, Wash.; her grandchildren, Cindy and John Goodwin, Shelly and Nick Dykstra, Mike and Lara Botsford, Heidi and Don Ricardo, and Pat and Cindi Rae Botsford; her great-grandchildren, David and Hannah Botsford, Mikayla and Jacob Botsford, Alex Ricardo and Taylor Dykstra; her extended family, Chris and Susi Fritsch of Kelso, Kurt Fritsch of Warrenton, Ore., Courtney, Ty and Jackson Trahanes of Longview, Jordan Fritsch of Cathlamet, Cammy Miller of Pflugerville, Texas, Daniel Fritsch of Austin, Texas, and Margee Gray of Bastrop, La.; and many nieces and nephews. Marjory was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1999; two brothers, Harold and Andrew Haskins; a daughter, Carole Sue; and a grandson, Gary Wagner. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Valley Friends Church with pastor Rick Hayes officiating. Interment has taken place at Rose Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632 or the Rose Valley Friends Gym Fund, 1437 Rose Valley Road, Kelso, WA 98626. Arrangements are by Columbia Funeral Service.
