A Celebration of Life service is planned for this spring in Sioux Center, Iowa. Chamberlain-McColley's Funeral Homes, Hot Springs, SD, is in charge of arrangements. Mark Alan Goesch was born January 24, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Wilbur and Elaine (Redepenning) Goesch. He grew up in Ortonville, until the family moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota in 1965. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1968. He married Debra Merrill on August 21, 1971, and were later divorced. He married Karan E. (Maack) Schoon on November 24, 1983, and were later divorced. He first worked with his father in the Crankshaft Service machine shop and then became a Hot Springs City police officer. He also worked several years as a mechanic at Hills Edge Auto. He was also a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church. He moved to Sioux Center, Iowa, in 1999, where he owned a computer repair business. He served on the Heritage Village board and was a member of the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church in Sioux Center. He married Marlene Joyce (Van Meeteren) Jordan in Sioux Center. Marlene preceded him in death on November 6, 2020. He enjoyed all things mechanical and was a good machinist. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family. Surviving are one daughter, Vonna (Bryan) Laue of Lake Frederick, VA; one step-daughter, Mari (Terry) Cook of Weeki Wachee, FL; one step-son, Mark Jordan of Lincolnwood, IL; two granddaughters, Kimberly Laue and Bethany (Andres) Donahue; three step-grandchildren, Eric Beals, Carly (Jake) Whiting and Kiana Jordan; and three sisters-in-law, Doris (Allen) Jiskoot of Newkirk, IA, and Lois Van Meeteren and Linda Van Meeteren, both of Sheldon, IA.
