Description	:	Marlene was born November 27, 1936 in West Point, Nebraska to Lucille R. and Leo A. Goebel. She moved with her family to Fremont in 1941, Memphis, TN in 1951, then to Decatur, AL in 1954, where she graduated from high school, then traveling on to Fort Worth, TX, where she married and had 5 children. She then moved back to Omaha, NE, where she raised her children as a single mother. Read More	Marlene was born November 27, 1936 in West Point, Nebraska to Lucille R. and Leo A. Goebel. She moved with her family to Fremont in 1941, Memphis, TN in 1951, then to Decatur, AL in 1954, where she graduated from high school, then traveling on to Fort Worth, TX, where she married and had 5 children. She then moved back to Omaha, NE, where she raised her children as a single mother. She was a Principal at St. James Home and Day Care, then worked in the banking industry until meeting her husband of nearly 40 years, Matt Dillon. They became property managers for properties in Las Vegas, NV, Little Rock, AR, Largo, FL, and then back to Omaha, NE. She later worked for Skyline Manor in Omaha, until she retired. She was the Chief, a problem solver, confident, optimistic, crafter, designer, cook, and, above all, the greatest mother. Marlene and Matt loved their road trips, she often talked about her favorite trip with her grandchildren Zach and Megan, where they traveled to Yellowstone, Mammoth exhibit, Colorado Springs, Cave of the Winds, Mount Rushmore, Grand Teton, and the Kearney Archway monument. She loved visits with Connie, Craig, and all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and siblings. She gave so much of herself to others, always helping when she could, always laughing and hiding her illness and pain, so others would not grieve before it was their time, according to her. She only gave her suffering to God. She did Designs by Marlena (The Scarf Lady), crocheting many scarves and blankets. She handed out blankets to the homeless downtown, and gave them to the animal shelter for their boxes they put the pet in to give to their new adoptive family. We will never forget her beautiful smile, her sense of humor, her strength, her faith, her always finding the positive in all things negative, her crafts, and her cooking. We will always remember her humor and quirks when we would tease her about childhood. She was loved by many, and had a beautiful soul. She will always be loved, terribly missed, and in our hearts, forever. She is now the greatest angel that heaven could receive and forever our guardian.
