Description	:	Marlene Grantier 79 passed away at her home, where she wanted to be with family. She ends this journey to begin her eternal journey in Heaven with Jesus. She was born July 20, 1936 in Watford City, ND, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Stevens) Christianson. She received her education in Watford City and on August 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to Larry J. Grantier. Read More	Marlene Grantier 79 passed away at her home, where she wanted to be with family. She ends this journey to begin her eternal journey in Heaven with Jesus. She was born July 20, 1936 in Watford City, ND, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Stevens) Christianson. She received her education in Watford City and on August 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to Larry J. Grantier. They made their home in Watford City and worked on the Kennedy Ranch and in Williston on the Davidson Ranch in 1964. In 1968 they moved to Grass Range and worked on the Fraser Land and Cattle Company. They later moved to Winnett continuing to work for the Fraser Company. They moved to Three Forks in 1977, for two years returning to Winnett in 1979 living on their ranch east of Winnett where they raised registered Quarter Horses. Larry preceded her in death in 2003; she continued to make her home in Winnett until the time of her death. Marlene’s passion was following her grandkids in all of their activities, especially all the ballgames and tournaments. She was a strong supporter of the 4-H program and thoroughly enjoyed her week stay at the Central Montana Fair. She enjoyed her visits to Arizona in the winter and her gambling experiences with her sister Joan. Marlene was a member and attended the Community Christian Fellowship in Grass Range. She was a member of the Winnett Lions Club, Winnett Cemetery Board, Petroleum County Library Board, and a Leader of 4-H clubs. She is survived by two sons David (Becky) of Winnett and Larry G. (Renae) of Belgrade; two daughters Debby (Hank) Olson of Lewistown, and Lori (Rex) Murnion of Roy; brother Gordon (JoAnn) Christianson of Jamestown, ND, two sisters Joan (Bob) Vernon of Mesa, AZ and Stella (Marvin) Nelson of Bismarck, ND; 10 grandchildren L.J. (Amy) Olson, Barney (Emely) Murnion, Sami (Zach) Routzahn, Tiffany Olson, Kristen (Doug) Wood, Lance Olson, Brittany (Evan) Volf, Katlyn, Angela and Kendra Murnion; 12 great grandchildren Randy, Ryan, Arley, Nolan, MacKenzie, Kimberly, Loryfina, E.J., Miles, Jayden, Austin and Josh; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Larry she was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services for Marlene E. Grantier will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Winnett High School with Inurnment to follow in the Winnett Cemetery. The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
