Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery in Brunsville. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., all at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Read More	Marlin ‘Bud’ Albright, 85, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Le Mars. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Bud was born on June 28, 1933 on a farm near Brunsville, Iowa, along with his twin sister, Marilyn 'Toots' to George and Anna (Marienau) Albright. He was baptized in the American Lutheran Church in Brunsville on August 6, 1933 and confirmed in the faith on August 11, 1946. Bud completed his elementary education in Brunsville. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. Bud married Carol Farmer on May 9, 1955 at the Melbourne E.U.B. Church, rural Hinton, and was drafted into the United States Army on July 13, 1955. He served two years of active duty in Ft. Still, Oklahoma with Headquarters and Headquarters 52nd Field Artillery Group. He was put on standby by reserve for the next five years. He was honorably discharged as Corporal of Communications on May 31, 1963. He was proud to be a member of Heeren-McHale-Wilkens American Legion Post 724 in Brunsville. Bud spent many years playing guitar. From playing with the Timberoojans, a County Western Band on KSCJ, to playing for church services and at the nursing home. He played for his own enjoyment and the entertainment of others. Bud worked for the Brunsville Lumber and Hardware, Smith Electric in Ireton, IA, and Bud Ross Meat Market in Le Mars, IA. He retired from Sioux Tools in Le Mars after 39 years of service. Bud was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Bud rededicated his life to Christ as his personal Savior at a Cursillo Weekend (a short course in Christianity) in 1978. He took comfort in the fact that he was saved because of what Jesus had done for him on the cross. His life was an example of how to be a Christian leader in the home and how to be a godly husband and father. Bud and Carol lived most of their years in Brunsville. In 2002 they moved to an apartment in Le Mars and recently in March 2018, Bud moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars. Bud is survived by his children: Julie (Lanny) Schultz of rural Merrill, Iowa, Deb (Arlie) Pick of Remsen, Iowa, and Darin (Kim) Albright of Milford, Delaware; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn 'Toots' Wheeldon; brother in law, Bill (Connie) Farmer; and other relatives. Bud is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years and 5 months to the day, Carol (October 9, 2017); three brothers: Art, Bill, and Virgil; sister, Phillis Small; great granddaughter, Charlie Rose; and three nephews.
