Moschell Star Beacon CHERRY VALLEY — Marlin M. Moschell, age 84, of Cherry Valley, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, with his family at his side. He was born June 4, 1929, to the late John Hiram Moschell and Jessie (Miner) Moschell at their home in Cherry Valley, Ohio. Marlin graduated from New Lyme Deming High School in 1946 and married Karlene Woofter of Mecca, Ohio in 1949. Marlin owned and operated dairy and crop farms over the years in Dorset, Cherry Valley, and Wayne; and specialized as a hay broker. Throughout his years as a successful farmer, he served on the boards of several organizations including Western Reserve Farm Co-op, ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service), Soil and Water Conservation, Farm Bureau, Pymatuning Valley School Board; and was an active member of The Gideons International. He also served on the Board of Directors of Andover Bank for 36 years. Marlin was an active member of Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene and the Wesleyan Church in Zephyrhills, Fla. Marlin and Karlene enjoyed the fellowship of many friends in Florida where they have spent the past eighteen winters. Marlin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Karlene Moschell of Cherry Valley; five children, Marlea (Don) Terry of Fairview, Pa., Renee Robinson of Greensboro, N.C., Denise (Ed) Stafford of Jamestown, N.C., Lynette (Jim) Couchenour of Columbiana, Ohio and Marlin (Connie) Moschell of Cherry Valley; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Idabell Koontz of Newark, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Floyd Moschell. Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5th, at First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover, Ohio. The Funeral will be held at the same location on Monday, Jan. 6th, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Rich Meier, of Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3410 St. Rt. 6, Andover, Ohio 44003.
