Market street, widely known Lima attorney, died Saturday night at City hospital from a fractured skull, incurred when he fell from a ladder at his home. Death occurred three hours after the accident. Sanford was engage in cleaning the spouting on the roof of his home. He was standing on a ladder. A. E. Brandies, who resides directly at the rear of the Sanford home, saw the accident. He said the ladder slipped and Sanford lost his balance and fell. In the fall his head struck the veranda roof, causing his body to swing outward, landing on the sidewalk head first. A deep gash was cut in his head. The aged attorney was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, where he died three hours later after all medical aid had failed. Sanford was born in Madison county, Ohio, receiving his early education in the schools at Lebanon. Upon graduation of his college course had admission to the bar, he came to Lima and began practice. He was one of the oldest members of th Allen County Bar association. Sanford is survived by his wife, one brother, Charles Sanford, New London, Ohio, and two sisters, residing in Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
