Description	:	Mrs. Martha (Lane) Ervin, widow of the late William Ervin, died of pneumonia Friday night, February 2nd at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Haslem of Maple Grove in Fort Fairfield, where she was spending the winter. She was the daughter of David Lane and was born in Burlington, ME., in 1833. in 1854 she married William Ervin. In 1871 she and her husband came to Aroostook and settled on the farm on the Ashland State Rd., where they lived for 41 years. They had 13 children, 8 of whom were born before they... Read More	Mrs. Martha (Lane) Ervin, widow of the late William Ervin, died of pneumonia Friday night, February 2nd at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Haslem of Maple Grove in Fort Fairfield, where she was spending the winter. She was the daughter of David Lane and was born in Burlington, ME., in 1833. in 1854 she married William Ervin. In 1871 she and her husband came to Aroostook and settled on the farm on the Ashland State Rd., where they lived for 41 years. They had 13 children, 8 of whom were born before they came to Presque Isle, 2 of that number died from diptheria. Five children were born to them in Presque Isle. The children are as follows: Mrs. Anne Williams of Los Angeles, CA., Mrs. Jane Day of Griffin Ridge, ME., Mes. Alice Williams of Lowell, MA., Mrs. Minnie Lane of Everett, MA., Mrs. Lizzie Green of Lee, ME., John Ervin of Ashland, William Ervin of Presque Isle, Mrs. Myrtle Haslem of Fort Fairfield, Mrs. Emma Haines of Washburn. A son, David met his death in a train wreck in the west about 10 years ago. His wife, now Mrs. Guy Sylvester lives in Presque Isle. She leaves a brother, David of Bellingham, WA., 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment Fairmount cemetery.
