MULLINS - Mrs. Martha Aurilla Hayes Edwards, 83, of the Smithboro community died in a Mullins hospital Thursday after an illness of six months. She was born in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Tristan Benjamin and Sarah Nance Hayes. She was married to the late Daniel Olin Edwards. MULLINS - Mrs. Martha Aurilla Hayes Edwards, 83, of the Smithboro community died in a Mullins hospital Thursday after an illness of six months. She was born in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Tristan Benjamin and Sarah Nance Hayes. She was married to the late Daniel Olin Edwards. She was a life member and the first president of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Miller's Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at Miller's Methodist Church with Rev. M. R. Galloway officiating. Mrs. Edwards will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. She is survived by one son, Joseph O. Edwards of Mullins; two daughters, Mrs. W. Glenn White of Mullins and Mrs. Marion Gambrell of the home; one brother, J. Truss Hayes of Lake View; one sister, Mrs. Ina H. Edwards of Lake View; two half sisters, Mrs. Carl White of Ridgeland and Mrs. W. G. Byerly of Lenoir, NC; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
