Description	:	Martha Emily Claussen was born February 23, 1906, at Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the daughter of August and Dora Hamann Meyer. She died on Sunday, April 20, 1980 at the Bishop Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 74. Martha was raised on a family farm in Soldier Township. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She received her formal education in the Immanuel Lutheran School at Soldier Township. Read More	Martha Emily Claussen was born February 23, 1906, at Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the daughter of August and Dora Hamann Meyer. She died on Sunday, April 20, 1980 at the Bishop Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 74. Martha was raised on a family farm in Soldier Township. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She received her formal education in the Immanuel Lutheran School at Soldier Township. On May 10, 1931, Martha was united in marriage to Claus Claussen at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Soldier Township. They made their home in Schleswig. Martha was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Schleswig and a member of Immanuel Ladies Aid. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her husband Claus of Schleswig, one son Ronald of Spirit Lake, Iowa and one daughter, Laurene, Mrs. Roland Meeves of Manning and five grandchildren. Also by one brother, Henry Meyer of Ricketts and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Neubauer of Schleswig and Mrs. Minnie Gosch of Ute, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 23, 1980, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Morgan Cemetery near Schleswig. The Rev. Theodore Letzring officiated at the services. Pallbearers included Robert Bumann, Peter Pickel, Richard Meyer, Richard Clark, Neil Moeller and Lance Nelson.
