She was a native of Gloucester, Va. and was born on March 7, 1921. She was preceded by her parents Clement Wilson and Mattie Ruth (Diggs) Roane and brothers Howard Roane and Meredith Roane. She is survived by her devoted husband of 29 years, Wallace Fletcher of Gloucester and children Keith Moore and his wife, Debbie of Chesapeake, Va.; Donna Cooper of Quitman, Miss.; Arlene Perry and her husband, Cecil of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.;... Read More	Daily Press (Newport News, VA), 18 Apr 2006 GLOUCESTER - Florence Roane Fletcher went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2006. She was a native of Gloucester, Va. and was born on March 7, 1921. She was preceded by her parents Clement Wilson and Mattie Ruth (Diggs) Roane and brothers Howard Roane and Meredith Roane. She is survived by her devoted husband of 29 years, Wallace Fletcher of Gloucester and children Keith Moore and his wife, Debbie of Chesapeake, Va.; Donna Cooper of Quitman, Miss.; Arlene Perry and her husband, Cecil of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; also her step-children Peggy Robison and her husband, Gerald; Wendell Fletcher, both of Florida. Florence was a loving grandmother to ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Margaret Kite and Rob Roy Roane. Florence lent her many talents to Ebenezer Baptist Church, Spring Hill Baptist Church, had served as a director for the Women Missionary Union and had held many offices with the Gideon Auxiliary. She spent many years as a nurse in both hospital and convalescent setting. We offer special thanks to Riverside hospice and Walter Reed Convalescent Center for their care during her illness. A service of Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Spring Hill Baptist Church in Cobbs Creek. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Harcum Road, Gloucester. The family will meet for fellowship following the interment at Spring Hill Baptist church. The family will also meet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may give a donation in her memory to Guideons International. Funeral arrangements are by Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va.
