Description	:	Martha F. Fort, 90, of Ottumwa, died at 10:52 p.m. June 8, 2020 at Hospice House in Ottumwa. She was born August 7, 1929 in Ottumwa to Benjamin Franklin and Zadie Mae Rown Agee. Martha married Dewey Fort on August 22, 1959, and he preceded her in death October 16, 2009. She was born August 7, 1929 in Ottumwa to Benjamin Franklin and Zadie Mae Rown Agee. Martha married Dewey Fort on August 22, 1959, and he preceded her in death October 16, 2009. A 1947 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Martha worked for John Morrell & Co until 1973, when she and her husband moved to Sioux Falls, SD. After retiring in 1987, they moved back to Ottumwa. She was a member of Davis Street Christian Church. In her younger years, Martha played basketball, and softball, including for the Ottumwa Beauty Academy ball team. She was offered a spot on the All-American Red Heads. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, making candy, traveling, and was an Iowa Hawkeye fan. Surviving are her step-children, Alta (Richard) Bennett of AR, Bill (Helen) Fort of AZ; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Roy, Orville, Emmett, Ralph and Don Agee; 2 infant brothers, Everett and Harold; 4 sisters, Nellie Stuehm, Lucille Teeter, Dorothy Canny, and Betty Cantrell; a great-grandson, Jace McDougal; and step-daughter, Judy Riddle. Limited open visitation for friends will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at Reece Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rfh-ia.com. Private funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Wakelin officiating. For those not able to be inside the funeral home with the family during the service, you may watch the service on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Davis St. Christian Church or Hospice Serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
