Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Cassels, 80, were held at the United Methodist Church in Groton with the Rev. John Maines officiating. Casketbearers were Vern McCullough, Orville Schaller, Don Walter, Casey Whitlock, Lloyd Strom and Jerry Rix. Honorary casketbearers were Ray Johnson, Algot Johnson, Kermit Sperry, Art Rix, Otho Rix and Foster Rix. Ushers were Alan Strom and Merrill Rix. The Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton, was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cassels died Wednesday, May 5, at the Colonial Manor in Groton. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral chapel. Martha Krueger was born August 8, 1901, at Ferney. She grew up there and married Leon H. Cassels April 4, 1927, at Redfield. She was a resident of the Groton area all of her life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also on the volunteer staff at the Colonial Manor. Survivors include three sons, Gene, Groton; Gerald, Faulkton; and Donald, Owatonna, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Loren (Jane_ Buntrock, Westerville, Ohio; two brothers, Herman Krueger, Verdon; and George Bleck, Watertown; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Elsie) Miller, Bellevue, Neb.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.
