Three sons, George of Muscatine and Charles and Henry of Los Angeles, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. D.A. Bogard and Mrs. T.W. Cherry of Muscatine, and a sister Mrs. T.R. Smith of Tipton, survive. Mrs. Fisch was born in Landorph, Germany May 2, 1839 and her family came to this country when she was five years of age. Soon afterward they moved to Muscatine and Mrs. Fisch had made her home there since. Her marriage to Jacob Fisch occurred Oct. 22, 1856. Davenport Democrat and Leader: Sept. 27, 1923 Page 19 Mrs. Martha Fisch, widow of Jacob Fisch and a pioneer resident of Muscatine, died at 3:40 o'clock yesterday afternoon following an extended illness at her home, 201 East Fourth street. Death was due to old age and complications. She was 84 years old. Mrs. Fisch had been in failing health since the day after Thanksgiving day when she fell, and sustained a fracture of her right wrist. Mrs. Fisch, formerly Miss Martha Hucke, was born May 2, 1839, in Lindorph, Germany. She came to this country with her parents in 1843 and settled here, Muscatine then being known as Bloomington. She married Mr. Fisch Oct. 22, 1856. He was in the hardware business here from 1868 to 1890. Her husband preceded her in death by 16 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. T. W. Cherry and Mrs. David Bogard of Muscatine; thee sons, Charles and Henry Fisch of Los Angeles and George Fisch of this city; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Smith of Tipton.
