Description	:	Mrs. James Casteel died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Silas Kopka, in Beaver township Monday night about ten o'clock. The cause of her death was convulsions the result of uremic pensioning. She had been troubled for a long time at intervals with these convulsions and while they were always very dangerous in their nature she was able to get through them by having prompt medical assistance, but this time when she was stricken the attack proved fatal before the family physician could reach her. The cause of her death was convulsions the result of uremic pensioning. She had been troubled for a long time at intervals with these convulsions and while they were always very dangerous in their nature she was able to get through them by having prompt medical assistance, but this time when she was stricken the attack proved fatal before the family physician could reach her. Mrs. Casteel's maiden name was Martha J. Wells. She was born in Edgar county, Illinois, March 10, 1849 and at the time of her death was 63 years, 8 months and 26 days of age. She was married to James Casteel, who died this spring. To this union six children were born. One child died in infancy and a son Walter died at 11 years of age. The living children are: Mrs. S. A. Hinds of Paris, Ills; H. P. Casteel of Kankakee, Ills; Mrs. Albert Shirtz and Mrs. Silas Kopka of this place. Mrs. Casteel was a member of the Christian church which she joined in childhood and remained a faithful member all these years. She was a woman who possessed many friends, was very much devoted to her family and her sudden death will be keenly felt among them. The funeral took place this afternoon from the residence of Albert Shirtz, Rev. T. N. Russell, officiating. Burial was made in the cemetery east of Francesville. Francesville Tribune 29 Aug 1912
