According to Martha's death record, she did die on September 28, which was on a Monday. However, the obituary states that the funeral would be held Thursday, September 24. According to Martha's death record, she was buried on September 30. Since this obituary was published on Thursday, October 1, the funeral was probably held that afternoon, and the burial date on the death record is probably incorrect as well. Obituary From "Ottumwa Tri-Weekly Courier," Thursday, October 1, 1914: Martha Jane Mooney, 131 South Moore street, died at the Ottumwa hospital Monday night, September 28. The funeral will be held Thursday, September 24, at 1 p.m. from the United Brethern church. Interment will be made in the Shaul cemetery. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Alva, Walter and Frank, and one daughter, Eva Green, of Adair county.
