"Mrs Brown's Funeral The funeral of Mrs Martha Brown who was killed in the runaway, Friday night, will be held at the Dayton school house at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Rev J. E. Her son Alexander and daughter Mrs W. A. Crawford, accompanyed by two grandchildren Ebby and Lucy Macy all of Conway Springs, Kans., arrived to late to see their mother. The Greatest of sympathy rests with the bereaved family, who seem to have suffered a series of sad accidents of which this is the climax. Mr Ebenezer Brown, father and husband dropped dead in the field, in Kansas, this spring. Then the son J. R. Brown was seriously injured in a runaway six weeks or so ago. Mrs Brown came here to see her son and a desastrous fire was suffered on their farm in which a huge barn and much other property was distroyed. A daughter-in-law , is now seriously ill and Mrs Brown so suddenly summoned has made a chapter of trials few families are called to bear in so short a space of time. The Union extends sympanthy.". (The remains were later moved to Oak Hill Cemetery near Belle Plaine, Benton County, Iowa)
