Martha Jane Hopkins was born about September 1842 in Franklin County, Virginia. Her parents were George W. Hopkins and Elizabeth Dowdy Hopkins. George Montgomery married Martha Jane Hopkins on January 01, 1863 in Franklin County, Virginia. The last time that Martha Jane Hopkins Montgomery was found in Ancestry.com or Family was in the 1920 census for Douglas County, Kansas. George Montgomery married Martha Jane Hopkins on January 01, 1863 in Franklin County, Virginia. The last time that Martha Jane Hopkins Montgomery was found in Ancestry.com or Family was in the 1920 census for Douglas County, Kansas. However, both Martha and her husband are buried in Centropolis, Kansas Franklin County in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. What makes it more interesting is that George and Martha’s daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth P. Montgomery Shuler and Jacob Shuler, were last found in Centropolis, Kansas Franklin County but were buried in Pleasant Grove, Kansas Douglas County in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The daughter and her parents just did the exact opposite of each other. In my opinion, since Martha Jane Hopkins Montgomery died in 1920 I would say she died in Douglas County, Kansas but was buried in Centropolis, Kansas Franklin County.
