Saturday evening, Mrs. Martha Jane Lawrence passed away at her home on White street, her daughter Lillie being with her at the time of her death. Deceased was born in South Bend, Indiana, 86 years ago, where she lived as a girl. Her family then removed to Griswold, Iowa, where she lived until she came to South Dakota thirty-five years ago. The husband of the deceased died in Lead in 1904, and since that time she has been living with her daughter on White street. She contracted a case of pneumonia last winter which left her in a weakened condition and this, coupled with her age, resulted in her death. She leaves, besides her daughter Lillie, who was with her at the time of her demise, a daughter, Mrs. Lilly of Coats, Kansas; and sons, B.F. Lawrence of Minneapolis, Minn.; W.J. Lawrence of Okamo, Okla.; Dell Lawrence of Los Angeles, Cal.; and a brother, David Winter, of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. from the Mead Undertaking parlors, Rev. E. Claude Smith of the Presbyterian church officiating. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery."
