K. MOON Mrs. J. K. Moon died at her home two and one half miles northwest of Belinda Thursday morning, August 13, 1903. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday, conducted by Rev. C. A. Vannoy, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Strong cemetery. Martha Jane Wood was born in Belmont county, Ohio, July 9, 1850 and moved to Iowa in 1858. She was united in marriage to J. K. Moon, November 26, 1868. To them were born eight children, four boys and four girls, all of whom are living except one, Asbury Larkin, who died July 24, 1896. All of her family were with her at the time of her death but two girls, Mrs. Gilla McCollough and Minnie Rooker, who live in California. She was one of a family of ten children, three girls and seven boys, besides one half sister, three of whom have preceded her to the beyond. She united with the Belinda congregation of the Christian church in 1869, and has ever lived a consistent Christian life. We feel that in the death of this sister we have lost a loving friend and neighbor, a devoted wife and mother, ever ready with a helping hand to assist the sick and needy. Her toils and suffering are over and with a calm unfaltering faith she has passed to her reward.
