She was born August 26, 1922 to Frank Witter Williams, Sr. and Gertrude Mae (McCormick) Williams in Union County, Indiana north of Old Bath. Her brothers were: Frank Jr., Robert Donald, and Keith. She attended Billingsville School and graduated from Union High School, College Corner, OH in 1940. Martha married Wilbur Newton Carmichael on Feb. 12, 1944 at her parent's home in Union County, IN. Martha was the daughter of a farmer, wife of a farmer, and a homemaker. She dearly loved her family and friends and was always busy trying to help them in any way possible. She was known for making something out of nothing. She will be buried in College Corner Cemetery with private services. A memorial service will be at Historic Hopewell Church, 6471 Camden College Corner Rd., College Corner, OH at 11:00 am on August 4, 2011.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Talawanda FFA. The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
