Sagehorn, a resident of Phillips County for many years passed away Thursday morning, November 22, Thanksgiving Day, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Prussman in Loveland. Mrs. Sagehorn had been in declining health for some time. She entered the Holyoke hospital on October 28 for treatment of a heart condition. She was hospitalized here for one week and then was taken to the Prussman home in Loveland to be near further medical attention. She was a patient at Loveland Memorial Hospital four days but had again been at the Prussman home for a week at the time of her death. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, at Zion Lutheran Church here, with Rev. James Pomeroy officiating. Interment was at the Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home. One of 11 children of John and Louise Warnecke, Martha Marie Warnecke was born April 15, 1896 at Deshler, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church there and grew to womanhood in the Deshler community. On February 21, 1917, she was united in marriage with Dietrich F. Sagehorn of Deshler. They established their home on a farm near Deshler, where they resided for two years, and then moved to their farm near Amherst. They lived there for 31 years and then moved to the present home in Holyoke in December 1950. Survivors include her husband, Dietrich, Holyoke; one son, Harold, Holyoke; one daughter, Lola, Mrs. Lyle Prussman, Loveland; two sisters, Mrs. William Bock, Yuma and Mrs. Emma Raab, Olympia, Washington; two brothers, Fred Warnecke, Los Molinas, California and Valentine Warnecke, Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; five grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
