Deceased, whose maiden name was Martha Menary, was a daughter of Mr. David Menary, of Bowling Green, and had been married only a little over a year. Her husband, who is also a native of Amaranth, served through the South African war and after returning to Canada went to Alberta, where he took up land. His young wife went out to join him in early July 1909, their marriage taking place shortly after her arrival. We have not learned the particulars relating to her untimely demise, but understand that it was caused by typhoid fever. Mrs. Fennell was only 32 years of age and is survived by her parents and a family of five brothers and a sister. The brothers are John Menary, of Brampton; Thos. and Wm, of Amaranth; Lewis, of Grand Valley, and Alfred, who is a member of the Amaranth Council. Miss Ellen, at home, is the only sister. Mr. Wm. Menary, this town, is an uncle. The remains were brought east for burial, arriving in Orangeville yesterday morning. They were met on their arrival here by a large number of the friends and Amaranth neighbors of the family. The funeral was held from the C.P.R. depot to Greenwood cemetery.
