Description	:	MARTHA PFISTER HOYER was born in Farmington, Iowa, April 23, 1883 and passed away in the Memorial hospital, Mt Pleasant, March 24, 1948 at the age of 82 years; 11 months and 1 day, after an illness of eleven days. She was the eldest of a family of six children of the late Rev. R. A. Pfister and Henrietta Paul Pfister. She was confirmed and married by her father to Henry T. Hoyer at Hope Lutheran Church of Germanville, Iowa on July 11, 1889 and they came to Cottonwood community where she resided the reat of her life. After... Read More	MARTHA PFISTER HOYER was born in Farmington, Iowa, April 23, 1883 and passed away in the Memorial hospital, Mt Pleasant, March 24, 1948 at the age of 82 years; 11 months and 1 day, after an illness of eleven days. She was the eldest of a family of six children of the late Rev. R. A. Pfister and Henrietta Paul Pfister. She was confirmed and married by her father to Henry T. Hoyer at Hope Lutheran Church of Germanville, Iowa on July 11, 1889 and they came to Cottonwood community where she resided the reat of her life. After her marriage, her church membership been in the Zion Evangelical church of Primrose, Iowa. To this union, six children were born, the oldest a daughter, with her husband, two brothers and her father and mother preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her lost, five children, Clara Howes, Albert & Herbert Hoyer, Hillsboro; Freda Nyberg of Peorit, Ill; Dora Pickard of Mt Pleasant; three sisters, Marie and Lydia Pfister of Farmington, Ia, Mrs. Will Smith,. Ft. Madison, who in in the Sacred Heart hospital, recovering from an injury; twelve grand children and twelve great grand children, two neices and nephews and many friends. Short funeral services were held at the Stevens' Funeral Home, Thursday at 1:15 p.m. and then at the Zion Evangelical church, of Primrose, Iowa at 2:30 which was in charge of Rev. A. E. Bargey, pastor of Primrose church. The songs were sung by Mrs Maurice Flemming and Mrs Delbert Warson, accompanied by mrs Lawerence Bristenstein. Interment was in the Primrose Cemetery and pall bearers were: J. R. Hoyer, Gene Howe, Robert Nyberg, Herbert Payne, Keith Loge and Rob Pefferman.
