Read More	FISHER, MARTHA SOFIA—Martha Sofia Fisher, daughter of the late Charles Meyer and Wilhelmina Heiderstadt Meyer, was born in Madison township near Geneva, Neb., March 18, 1878. She departed this life April 1, 1959, in the Hebron hospital at the age of 81 years and 14 days. As a young girl she was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal church of Geneva. Later in life, she and her husband joined the Methodist church of Geneva. She was united in marriage to Burton Fisher January 11, 1900. Four sons were born to this union. Deo and Fred of Geneva; and Kenneth of Sutton, Charles passed away in 1933. Martha was a kind, loving mother and wife who enjoyed her home, which was shared by her son Fred. Her home was always open to relatives and friends. She loved her flowers and especially enjoyed her great-granddaughter, Janice. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burton; one son, Charles, a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Fisher; and a great-grandson, Scott Hammond. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Deo and wife, Lillian of Fairmont, Kenneth and wife Eleanor, of Sutton; and Fred at home; three granddaughters, Charlene of Lincoln; Mrs. Corinne Wolfe of clay Center and Mrs. Marilyn Hammond of Long Beach, Cal., one great-granddaughter, Janice Marie Wolfe; one brother, Fred Meyer of Geneva; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Watmore of Fairmont; a niece, Mrs. Marjorie Bennett of Lincoln; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home Sunday afternoon, April 5, with Rev. Alden B. Sears officiating. Music was furnished by Ralph Reemts, who sang “Ivory Palaces’ and “In the Garden.” He was accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster. Interment was in the family lot at the Geneva cemetery. Pallbearers were Jesse Richards, Orville Dunkin, Harry Ward, Otto Schmidt, Kenneth Hofferber and Vit Wolfe. The Nebraska Signal 9 April 1959, page 9.
