Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon. Short rites at the family home at 2 o'clock will be followed by services at St. Paul Lutheran church at 2:30. The Rev. Waldemar E. Hinck, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Carroll cemetery. The body is at the Huffman Funeral home at present. Born in Benton County Mr. Emmick, son of August and Elizabeth Werning Emmick, was born October 16, 1876, in Benton county, Ia. He was only six months old when his parents brought their family to Carroll county and settled on a Grant township farm, where he was reared. His marriage to Louise Albers took place March 6, 1900, in Sheridan township. Mr. and Mrs. Emmick established their home on a farm one mile south of Lidderdale, where they lived 10 or 11 years. They then resided in Glidden for two years and Harlan for one year before locating in Carroll 33 years ago. For about five years after Mr. and Mrs. Emmick moved to Carroll, Mr. Emmick was associated with the Strohm family in their store, working in the grocery department. Later he operated an oil station for four or five years. He had been retired since then. For a long time, Mr. Emmick had served as member of the board of state inheritance tax appraisers for Carroll county, a post he held at the time of his death. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church. He had been confirmed at the Lutheran church in Sheridan township. Survivors besides his wife, he leaves one brother, William C. Emmick, of Carroll, and five sisters: Mrs. Emma Kranz, Newhall, Ia.; Mrs. Anna Maus, Osakis, Minn.; Mrs. Ed Albers (Christine), Lidderdale; Mrs. Mary Meindl, San Carlos, Calif.; and Mrs. Minnie Wohlenberg, Carroll. His parents preceded him in death; also one sister, who died in infancy.
