Campbell who was in the barn at the time, was also struck by a bolt but he has entirely recovered. Cravin was 29 years of age and leaves a widow. Cravin and Campbell had taken shelter in the barn when the terrible storm came up Wednesday afternoon. Campbell went inside of the barn and warned Cravin to go away from the door but he did not heed the warning and stood watching the electrical display with a corn knife in his hand. There was a blinding flash and Campbell knew no more. Cravin’s body was found by Mrs. Campbell. Efforts to resuscitate him failed. After eight hours of unceasing work on Campbell, he was revived. Campbell is still somewhat weak from his terrible experience. The dead man had been married but a short time to a daughter of David Fitzsimmons, a prominent Preble County farmer. His untimely end is the cause of much sorrow and deep sympathy is expressed for his young widow. Hamilton Evening Sun Thursday, August 6, 1903, Hamilton, Ohio KILLED BY LIGHTNING.
