His wife and sons, his brother and sisters, and other relatives are thus thrown into deep grief and sorrow because all of them loved him so much and respected him so highly. Henry (M.H.) O'Neill was born January 21, 1878, at Lawler, a son of the late Mr and Mrs B.J. O'Neill. He grew to manhood in that community and received his education there. He taught school for a time and was a popular and influential man of his section. On June 25, 1907, he was married to Miss Belle McAloon of this city. Four sons were born to them: James L. of Tacoma, Washington; Paul H., Lennis P. and John J., at home. All members of this family are left to mourn and all were present at his funeral. Besides the ones mentioned above, he leaves three brothers and four sisters: Mrs Mary A. Galligan of Lawler; John of Waterloo; Miss Helen of Lawler; Thomas of Seattle; Miss Margaret of Waterloo, Miss Catherine of St Paul, and James of Lawler. All except Thomas were present for the last sad rites. Services were at 9am from St Joseph's Church in this city and were conducted by the pastor, Very Rev T.J. Dowling, as celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass assisted by Rev C.B. Goetzinger of Ionia as Deacon and Rev John O'Donnell of Lawler as sub-Deacon. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Services at the grave were by Reverend B.H. Forkenbrock, assisted by Reverend C.B. Goetzinger. The Mayor and City Council attended the funeral in a body. The city employees were also in attendance. Business places in New Hampton closed during the time of his funeral yesterday.
