Description	:	Martin Voog, age 90, of Centerville, SD died July 11, 2008 in the Viborg hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, July 14th at 10:00 a.m. at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville. He died July 11, 2008 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg, SD at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 28 days. Martin was raised and started school in Sisseton, his family moved to Centerville in 1928. He attended Joy country school and graduated from Centerville High School in 1939. Martin was united in marriage to LaVona Lunning June 17, 1944. He farmed for many years. Martin and LaVona enjoyed each others company so much that in 1972 they started working together as custodians for the Centerville School District. In 1987 they started working for Turner County as custodians and worked until 2002. Martin was a member of Scandia Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, Sunday school superintendent and was head usher for many years. He was a 4-H leader for 26 years and worked for the Turners County ASC Office. Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his wife of 64 years, LaVona; son, LaValle (Kelli) Voog of Centerville; daughters, Carol McLendon of Sioux Falls, Mavis (Dean) Austin of Centerville and Melanie (Gerry) Kluch of Hildreth, NE; 10 grandchildren, Todd McLendon, Jason (Jessica) Sundberg, Cherise Alexander, Heather Knudson, Ryan (Heidi) Austin, Bridget (Scott) Hansen, Tammy (Neal) Bobzin, Jared (Ashley) Voog, Lanie (Andy) Bunger and Britni Kluch; 14 great-grandchildren and sisters, Marcella Herktzman and Juna (Oliver) Carlson. His parents, five brothers, four sisters and daughter, Candice Alexander, preceded him in death. [Courtesy: Wass Home for Funerals]
