Description	:	Marty attended Albion Public Schools graduating in 1960. Following graduation, Marty moved to Kansas where he worked for a music store for four years. In 1964 he returned to Albion where he worked for Duane Brown and Arnold Romberg. He served in the Nebraska National Guard from 1963 until 1967. On August 12, 1967 Marty married Lucy Thiem, daughter of Ray and Gertie Thiem, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. They had three children, Julie, Jody, and Jeni. In 1970 they returned to Albion where Marty worked for "The Shopper" and later for the Schuyler Packing Plant. In 1974 they purchased Lough's Grocery and operated it until 1980. He worked as a salesman for Farmland Industries and later as a salesman for Behlen Manufacturing until retiring in 2004. Marty enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Albion Country Club. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes. He coached ball as his children were growing up, and had been a member of the American Legion. He also enjoyed horse racing and was a partner in several horses over the years. He died at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion, following a battle with cancer.
