Description	:	M. T. Wilson was born near Greencastle in South Central Pennsylvania near the Maryland line, January 9, 1848. In his twentieth year he came west, spending a short time at Marysville, Mo., and the winter in Kansas City. During the next few years he was in the employ of the United States Government, first between Fort Kearny, Nebraska, and Fort Dodge, Kansas, and later in the eastern part of our State. In his twentieth year he came west, spending a short time at Marysville, Mo., and the winter in Kansas City. During the next few years he was in the employ of the United States Government, first between Fort Kearny, Nebraska, and Fort Dodge, Kansas, and later in the eastern part of our State. In 1871, he visited his home state and upon his return located near Straight Creek where on the 20th of February 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Lorena Richards of that same community. Their wedded life was chiefly spent upon the farm. For four years they lived near Netawaka. The next two years succeeding years in the neighborhood of Straight Creek and for 27 years upon their farm about seven miles west of Holton .... Over five years ago the family moved to this town because of its educational advantages and during all this time he was always actively engaged in some sphere of toil. Recently he complained of a pain in his side and Friday morning his lifeless body was found in an alley not far from his own home where he had been delivering an order of fuel. He is survived by his wife, the four daughters, Mrs. H. R. Murphy, of Valley Falls, Kansas, Mrs. J. A. Martin, of Cimarron, New Mexico, Mrs. John Boettcher and Miss Alice Wilson of Holton, and one son, J.D. Wilson, also of Holton. Of his own family of eleven children, only two brothers and one sister are now living .... He united with the Presbyterian church of this place in March, 1908 .... laid to rest in the Holton cemetery. The Holton Recorder, November 16, 1911. Mrs. J. U.
