"Mike" Roesch, 73, of Roscoe will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at the United Church of Christ, Roscoe, with Pastor Al Schmierer officiating. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery with lunch and fellowship following the service at the Roscoe American Legion. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 1-5 p.m. at Gramm Funeral Home in Ipswich. Marvelyn was born Jan. 22, 1933, to Ernest Fuhrman and Myrtle (Naessig) Fuhrman at rural Mansfield. She attended grade school at Elder Grove country school and junior high school at Warner. She graduated from Central High School at Aberdeen in 1950. After graduation, Marvelyn worked as a teller for North Western Public Services at Aberdeen for several years. She married Melvin Roesch on Feb. 12, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Aberdeen. She then moved with him to the farm in rural Roscoe where she continued to reside with her family for the next 52 years until ill health forced her to seek professional care. She had been a resident of Manor Care at Aberdeen since February 2006. Marvelyn was a member of the Homemakers Extension Club, the Eastern Star and the United Church of Christ. She was very fond of animals, especially horses, dogs, and her "kitties." She loved playing cards and was a whist champion at Manor Care. She was a fabulous cook and was happiest when she was spending time with her family. She looked forward to watching her grandchildren at sporting events and rodeos. She is survived by her husband, Melvin of Roscoe; sons, Michael Roesch of Roscoe, and Marty (Tracy) Roesch of Aberdeen; and daughter, Melody (Doyle) Musick of Pierre. She is also survived by one sister, LaVila Wilke of Aberdeen; and seven grandchildren, Linda and Jeffrey Roesch of Roscoe, Sean Crawford, Chase and Jordan Roesch of Aberdeen, and Colton and Carson Musick of Pierre. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; one sister, Beverly Salgren; one brother-in-law, George Wilke; and one daughter-in-law, Carol Roesch.
