Vossler, 88, of Bismarck and formerly of Ashley, ND will be 10:00 am, Friday, March 13, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Marvin died March 9, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Marvin A. Vossler, son of Adam and Hilda (Deile) Vossler was born October 30, 1926 in McIntosh County, ND. He attended school in Wishek and Ashley. He was united in marriage to Lenora L. Wahl on August 8, 1943. Marvin worked at a local service station, owned and operated a service station, did construction work, was the Ashley City Water and Street Superintendent, was a school bus driver, and a substitute rural letter carrier for many years. Together, Marvin and Lenora purchased and operated Sportsman’s Bar until Marvin began work as a full time rural letter carrier in Lakota, ND. They moved back to Ashley in 1986 and Marvin retired as a letter carrier in 1992. They sold their home and moved to Bismarck in 2012. Marvin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and when Lenora needed dialysis, he was very devoted to her as they traveled to Bismarck three times a week for Lenora’s treatments. Marvin enjoyed clerking and attending auction sales, carpentry, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, traveling, dancing (especially the Polka), listening to accordion music, and researching and recording family genealogy. Marvin had a strong faith in God and was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving as an usher and on the church council, and was the treasurer of the Thrivent Congregational Advocate Group. Marvin is survived by his three children, Dorothy Olson, Verna Carpenter and Mark Vossler; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Reuther and Lorraine Murphy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
